Though my fever was gone in 5 days but after that my vertigo problem occurred. However that time my bp was was 90/77. I consulted a cardiologist he said tis spinning sensation is bcz of low bp. But till now it has been 50 days I am having vertigo. When I wake up I feel ok for 1 hour but after that vertigo starts. Now I feel medicine are also not helping me. I always feel heaviness in my head. What should I do?

Your bp level indicate that your symptoms are in fact due to low blood pressure. A systolic bp of 90 isn't normal. I would suggest you to get a digital bp apparatus and chart your bp at least twice daily and it will help to determine a pattern of your bp. In addition there is a possibility of electrolyte disbalances, dietary pattern disturbances or inner ear infections - which can give rise to similar symptoms. You can take up an online private consult with me for detailed advice on necessary tests and follow-up with proper treatment plan after a definite diagnosis.

Do these few simple neck exercises. 1. Neck stretch keep your body straight. Push your chin forward in a way that stretches the throat. Softly tense the neck muscles. Hold this for 5 seconds. Return your head to its center position. Push your head back with the chin held high, and hold for 5 seconds. Carry out 5 repetitions. 2. Neck tilt tilt your head forward so that the chin touches the chest. Softly tense the neck muscles. Hold this for 5 seconds. Return the head to a neutral position. Carry out 5 repetitions. 3. Neck tilt (side-to-side) lean your head down towards either shoulder, leading with the ear. Softly tense the neck muscles. Hold this for 5 seconds. Return your head to the center and repeat on the other shoulder. Carry out 5 repetitions. 4. Neck turn turn your head to one side as far as it remains comfortable, being sure to keep your chin at a level height. Tense your neck muscles for 5 seconds. Return the head to a central position. Did she faint or just fell down. If she faint then do consult neurologist asap. If only fell down - get your thyroid profile, cbc, blood sugar fasting checked from some lab. In the meanwhile follow this 1. Don't take tea empty stomach. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning (within 10 mins of waking up). No only biscuits or rusk will not do. 2. Don't overeat 3. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. U should eat whatever your mother or grandparent eat in bfast. I mean to say whatever is your traditional food. If punjabi eat paratha, if belongs to south then take idli/ dosa etc. 4. Have light meals every 2 hours (in addition to your breakfast, lunch n dinner) e.g. Nariyal paani, chaach, a handful of dry fruits, a handful of peanuts, any fresh n seasonal fruit, a cup of curd/milk etc 5. Finish your dinner at least 2 hours before going to sleep. 6. Maintain active life style7. Avoid fast foods, spicy n fried foods, carbonated beverages 8. Take a lot of green vegetables n fruit. 9. Drink lot of water.10. Everyday preferably sleep on same time exercise in the form of yoga, cycling, swimming, gym etc.For more details, you can consult me.

Dear lybrate-user, firstly just relax. You have high blood pressure which may be the only reason for your vertigo and headache, so that you should consult a general physician sooner the better. You also need a thorough vestibular (balance) assessment for vertigo. To my mind you are trying to explain that there is fullness in your head and it could be due to balance organ or head itself (central nervous system. Please therefore my advise is to also consult a ent specialist as soon as possible.
