The use of valproate during pregnancy has been linked to an increased risk of neural tube defects, such as spina bifida, as well as cognitive and behavioral problems in children. It may also affect the development of the...more

Im 23 years old. Ive been suffering from migraines since years and surviving on painkillers. I? Ve visited doctors in the past but it has not helped me much. I believe my migraine is always reacting to my stomach. Ive noticed it arises when I have food. If it got late or sometimes when I have chinese/ spicy/ oily (not always) or sometimes it gets triggered when I overeat. I have a very low appetite and have acidity issues. I can not drink carbonated drinks. I can not have alcohol without suffering with headache the next 2 days. And I always have to puke everything out from my system to feel better thats the only solution that helps lessen my headache. (one moment im able to have it all and the same things I can not have at some other time it is not necessary I have problems with these food always.) I don’t want to exclude everything and understand why my body reacts this way. My body just gives up and shuts down anytime it experiences such episodes. Also im not sure if I should visit a neurologist or gastroenterologist for the same as the outcome is headache.

Dear lybrate-user
you don't have to exclude everything from your diet permanently. 1. Typically, for the time being,(4 weeks) if you avoid or at least reduce the amount of such gastritis-causing foods, you will be able to manage your headaches better. 2. Also note, adding more fruits and vegetables to your diet can also reduce the incidence of migraine attacks.
3. Also, if gastritis is a common problem with you, treating gastritis will reduce your migraine attacks

There could be several reasons why you are experiencing only aura without headache as a patient with aura migraine. Here are a few possibilities:
migraine progression: as you age, the nature of your migraines may change. It is not uncommon for patients with migraine to experience changes in the frequency, intensity, duration, and accompanying symptoms of their headaches over time. In some cases, patients may experience aura without headache or vice versa.
Medications: certain medications...more
