Since you are in pain no doctor will dismiss you.
Steroids are not the solution for your pain and short-term popping in of steroids will not give you any pain relief,
you have to be on alternative form of treatment like physio, local modalities, mild pain killers etc ,after a detailed evaluation of your cervical spine mri and if needed immobilisation with collar.
