Hi lybrate-user, you are suffering from urethral stricture disease, by your history it is obvious that you have undergone viu or visual internal urethrotomy which is a temporary procedure to keep your urethra open. This is a reason why you have been advised self catheterization. You are bleeding while inserting catheter because your stricture has recurred. The only permanent solution to you problem is urethroplasty which will give you long term results.
