The treatment of gout is simple. Keep uric acid continuously below 6 to prevent uric acid deposition. Yes diet control helps but, bcoz most gout pts hv a genetic predisposition, diet control will not allow uric acid to be decreased below 6/5 which will control the disease. Most gout pts will require a medicine along with diet control.

The first thing you should do is to eat foods that are high in fiber, this is because fiber rich foods absorb uric acid from the blood. Your kidneys then'throw' out the excess uric acid. Try to eat oatmeal, spinach, cauliflowers and isabgol in milk if possible. Please use olive oil to cook your food. Kindly avoid vegetable oils because they become unhealthy when heated twice. If you get increased serum uric acid in your blood test then take less protein & fats in your diet. Go for blood test- random blood sugar, serum urea, serum creatinine.
Take lycopodium 1m/2dose in 1/2 an hour interval.
Berberis vulgaris q/ tds 10-10drops + half cup water for 15 days.

Drink plenty of water. No need to reduce your diet very much. Take everything in moderate quantity.
Uric acid if increased levels are found cause problem when it crystallize in joints. To reduce this chance you need to hydrate yourself. I. E. Drink plenty of water.

Gout (also known as podagra when it involves the big toe) is usually characterized by recurrent attacks of inflammatory arthritis—a red, tender, hot, and swollen joint. Pain typically comes on rapidly in less than twelve hours. The joint at the base of the big toe is affected in about half of cases. It may also result in tophi, kidney stones, or urate nephropathy.
