Hi, I am a 28 year from india, victim of spinal bifida and having urine incontinence. Current situation: I use a leg bag with a condom catheter, this has caused cuts and bruises on my penis. Also the urine bag starts to smell soon Have just started to explore for other techniques that could make me more normal than I am Following options were provided by docs intermittent catheter (I have tried it 10 years ago, caused allot of bleeding, do not think I intend going back to it) Diaper (also tried that, not likely a solution to me) mitrafanoff and SPC So of all possible options provided, mitrafanoff impressed me the most, however I have my queries concerning the same, and I would be eternal grateful if anyone could help me with knowing more about mitrafanoff the pros and cons 1. What's the success rate of the surgery? Will there be further complications? 2. I workout alot, will the surgery affect my workouts? The ab workouts? 3. The surgery requires a hole/stoma to be created, so what are the chances of dirt/sweat seeping through and is it a concern? 4. What are the chances of infection? And if I am infected how much of a concern is it 5. W.r.t query 4, what if I get an infection at an older age, and assume I have other problems like diabetes, etc. 6. The surgery involves sealing my urethra, so I will not be passing urine through my urethra, say in the future there are complications, is this reversible? If required can I pee back via my urethra 7. W.r.t infection im from india a tropical country, and not the most maintained, does this pose more problems?

Get an RGU&MCU done to look for the abnormality in the urethra and accordingly further treatment may be planned.
Urethral stricture may be a recurring disease.
