Hi,
After delivery pain persists for a period of 6 months or one year in some cases but pain is unbearable we have to find out whether pain is due to lumbar spondylitis or else pelvic inflammatory disease or because of nerve compression in between disc in lumbar or sacrum region.
So consult a doctor he can examine according to reports he will give you medication.

Hello lybrate-user,
as per your description of the problem its seems your wife is having coccydynia in which there is inflammation of the coccyxgeal bones. Using pillow will prevent pressure from that point but along with this you need to take sitz bath/ contrast bath.
Also need to check whether she will be requiring any sort of coccygeal mobilization or not. So please visit some good physiotherapist who can give you a better line of treatment.
Thanx.
