Bell’s palsy can affect the muscles around the eye and the eyelid, sometimes preventing the eye from blinking properly. Because the eye is unable to blink normally, not enough tears are spread across the eye to keep it moist. The cornea becomes dehydrated and dry spots begin to form. The eye may become extremely dry and inflamed, often leading to exposure keratitis, a condition caused by the cornea constantly being exposed to the atmosphere

Hello madam.
Post cataract surgery, there is a formation of some kind of white opacity over the lens (known as pco). It occurs in almost all the patients, despite the best surgical techniques and is treated with laser shots. She must have gained a better vision after the laser procedure. The itching and watering may be due to reasons apart from the cataract surgery and laser procedure. It may be allergic or inflammatory. Old age patients tend to develop certain conditions like concretions, d...more

Dear lybrate-user, there are treatments in homoeopathy which can postpone the surgical process but a progressive cataract will have to be excised out by laser surgery at the end. You can instill cineraria maritima eye drops (schwabe in alcohol base) in affected eye.
For more you are advised to go to ophthalmic surgeon for modus of operation and types of lenses.

4. Other miscellaneous causes like vasculitis, uveitis, corneal degeneration etc.
All of these result in blurring at distance and/or near. I appreciate your expertise and interest in examining your mother in whatever way you could. If the pupil...more

Hello. Unfortunately cataract has no cure. It's just treatable surgically only. I understand it must be difficult going for eye surgery in such difficult covid times. But she should get operated at the earliest, otherwise she might completely lose the eyesight (sometimes irreversibly). I am sorry but no drops can cure your problem.
Hope this helps.

Hi. Unfortunately there is no cure for rp as on now. All the medications or inventions are just aimed at improving the already diminished vision or improving the quality of life. For you per se genetic testing isn’t much useful now that you already have the disease.
But you should definitely get the genetic testing and counselling of your partner before marriage. Meanwhile, advise for you - 1. Vit a supplements 2. Visit an eye doctor if you experience further drop in your vision as there m...more

Hello. It's unfortunate that in such covid time, people like your father cannot access healthcare and get a basic surgery done.
First let me tell you, there is no cure or medical therapy for cataract. The only treatment is surgery. Get the sugar and blood pressure in control at home. Continue his medications. And please get in contact with some nearby eye hospital, so that he gets operated soon. White cataract is a mature cataract (paka hua motiya bind), which if not removed timely will caus...more
