Hello lybrate-user, pilonidal sinus needs surgical procedure to cure it permanently. We recommend limberg flap surgery which is having a very good success rate. Any other form of treatment other than surgery is not going to help u.

Hello lybrate-user, if you are diagnosed to have fistula, then please understand that it's an extra passage which is communicating from rectum with outside. So only ointment or antibiotic will not going to give you cure. Sitting in hot betadine water is going to keep the area clean. But you need to consult one proctologist for this.
