I am diagnosed with tourette syndrome finally after 19 years of continuous medication. The doctor prescribed me risperidone 2 mg, aripiprazole 15 mg and zoldem/zolp 20 mg. But this medication has caused me insomnia. Initially I used to lay down whole night but no sleep. I get only 3 to 4 hours sleep now. My question is can I replace zoldem with serenace/haldol 5 mg?

Insomnia can happen due to many reasons. The most common reason is stress or illness. Temporary stress due to changes in job, relationships, death of a loved one, or moving to a new place. My daughter has been on guanfacine for adhd for a couple years now and has gained a ton of weight. She has an appt on monday and I am going to ask to have her taken off this med because I do not feel like she needs it anymore and the weight gain is really bothering her. Namaste, my 9 year son diagnosed as asd at the age 3.6 and he is non speech also since july 2022 am giving him axepta 10 and risperidone .75 ml .his hyperactivity like hand shaking jumping running reduced most but hypo sensitivity is presence. Niw my question is can reduce the dosage of axepta 10 tab like can I give him 1/2 tab per day coz now a days if I give ful tab he feel sleepy not attentive. And now risperidone reduced to .5 ml.

Hi lybrate-user I think you should contact your doctor for these changes. 5 mg of axepta may not really help with anything. You should reduce risperidone further if you want but continue the axepta. Once again, refer to and trust your childâs doctor on this one
