Hello Lybrate user. I advice you to do scaling once. Then check for dental caries. If any dental caries present then do restoration or root canal treatment. Drink more water. Eat healthy food. Take vitamin c and d supplement. Use dental floss. Use mouth wash. Follow the instructions mentioned for one week. If the bad smell got reduced. You can follow the same. I advice you to do salt and warm water gargling for three times a day for three days. Apply topical metrogyl ointment a small pea size in the gums for five minutes, twice a day for three days. 3m clinpro 5000 1.1% toothpaste (its expensive than the other tooth paste availabe in the market)
or enafix toothpaste.

2.flossing daily
3. Use of mouthwash like chlorohexidine, hydrogen peroxide, or betadine or salt water rinses
4.use of interdental brushes
5. Gum paints like stolin. Metrohex plus gel.
