While some ear discharge is normal for a healthy, functioning ear, an abundance of clear fluid leaking from the ear can be caused from thin cerumen, a ruptured eardrum, a signal of an underlying ear infection, or a skin condition within the ear canal.
Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for you.

Dear Mr. lybrate-user,
studies show that local skin toxicity happens much before the topical retinoids' absorption into blood stream and even if it is absorbed, it is in negligible and clinically insignificant levels. Oral retinoids are however in much higher dosage and very rarely (<1 in 10000) have been known to cause reversible tinnitus and hearing loss. (so if the medication is stopped the tinnitus goes away and hearing improves). I would however suggest that you consult an ent surgeon t...more

Tinnitus is when you experience ringing or other noises in one or both of your ears. The noise you hear when you have tinnitus isn't caused by an external sound, and other people usually can't hear it. Tinnitus is a common problem. It affects about 15% to 20% of people, and is especially common in older adults.

Dear Mr. lybrate-user, since you have tinnitus along with balance problems, a otoneurolgy work up is needed by a good ent surgeon. Since you mention that you have a fast heart rate and your blood picture is altered, a cardiovascular workup by a good physician is very vital. Please do note that more patients have dizziness due to cardiovascular problems than neurological conditions. Best wishes.

Dear lybrate-user, you have not given a proper history as you did not mention about vertigo or hearing difficulty or aural fullness. However you did vaguely suggest that you had sinusitis after which you are having tinnitus. You need a proper audio-vestibular work up, so please feel free to consult me online .yours sincerely.
