Can crooked teeth and gap between the teeth be arranged properly with help of braces?
Yes, Braces are the best way to correct crooked teeth and close gaps between your teeth. All other options will require placement of artificial attachments on your teeth. Braces help your smile correction in a way that no artificial attachments are needed and there are no recurring costs. There are various esthetic options available with braces like invisible braces, invisible clear aligners where only you and your orthodontist know that your teeth are straightening. Other options are clear ceramic braces and metal braces.
They are tough, clear plastic 'aligners' (moulds) that are used to straighten teeth. Several sets of specially moulded, slightly different aligners are made for each patient. Each set is worn for two weeks before being replaced with the next one. They are made from clear plastic, so they are nearly invisible.
Once the treatment is finished the teeth need to be held in position for a time. This is called the retention' period, and the appliances that hold the teeth in place are called retainer.
Invisalign The Clear Alternate to Braces
The Invisalign System is a virtually invisible treatment that uses an innovative approach to effectively straighten teeth. Invisalign treatment uses a series of custom made removable aligners with unique Smart Force technology that gradually moves your teeth to the ideal position.
How does the Invisalign System work?
Step1- Initially, your Invisalign-trained doctor will take photos, Xrays if required. Then a digital scan or impression is taken to create treatment plan.
Step2- these records are used along with the treatment prescribed by your dentist to create a customised 3D treatment plan just for you. You will be able to see the final position your teeth are predicted to reach after your treatment. This plan is used to develop your customised aligners and also estimate the likely length of your treatment. You can decide to proceed for the treatment at this stage.
Step3-The customised aligners will be manufactured and shipped to your doctors office.
Step4- Your series of custom made aligners will be given to you(typically 3-4 sets a time) for you to wear everyday n change as told by your doctor.
Step5-You will be visiting your doctor 6-8 weeks to monitor the progress and receive the next series of aligners.
Step6- After you have finished with the treatment, you may need to use retainers to help make sure the new position of your teeth are maintained.
