yes it is called secondary caries, once you feel pain on that particular tooth,you may need to go for root canal .because once you get pain means it reaches root and even after pain subside on antibiotic it have a chances to get pain again in future. it is advisable for root canal

Normally it takes 18 months to 3 year for braces for effective treatment. Aligners do make the teeth movement fast. But choice of braces and aligners depends on clinical diagnosis in your case. Because they all have different indication depending upon the alignment of teeth.
