Hello-
during non infectious phase, the syphilis bacteria are still alive in your body, but you have no signs or symptoms of the infection. You're not contagious during this stage, but syphilis may still affect your heart, brain, nerves, bones, and other parts of your body. This phase can last for years.

Hello-
false negative nontreponemal test results occur when a person tests negative, but they actually do have a syphilis infection. The most common reason for a false-negative result is that the antibodies detected in this type of syphilis test may not develop until 3 to 6 weeks after infection.

Hello-
the prozone phenomenon in syphilis testing refers to a false negative response resulting from overwhelming antibody titers which interfere with the proper formation of the antigen-antibody lattice network necessary to visualize a positive flocculation test.

I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you.
Vdrl test is less likely to identify syphilis except in primary stage of disease where tpha may appear non- reactive. Moreover, it produces more false-positive results at all stages and more false-negative results in late disease.
Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for you.

My boyfriend came to me in dec, 2021 and told me that he was contacted by a girl that he was with before we got together that told him that she has syphilis. (at this point we had been together close to 6 months ). So we both got tested he came back positive and I came back non-reactive (btw they were rpr tests). But now I have been experiencing symptoms (a sore in my mouth, and have swollen lympnodes near my lower region), i'm about to order another test to make sure. But my question is what are the odds that after 6 months I didn't have it and he did. Or is it more likely that he was with this other person more recently than he said he was and when I got tested was too soon for it to show that I actually did have it? Please help me with this cuz if I do have it. It doesn't make sense to me of why now I may have it and not have it before. Thank you.

Hello, greetings from your ayurveda wellness coach.
Madam, it all depends on the individual and their immunity systems. In your case, there are all the suspected possibilities. Now you need to worry about dealing with it and on how to get it corrected. There are some ayurveda methods too to subside the symptoms and also to improve the quality of life and also helping in preventing serious issues. In your case, you may order retest as you were planning, however, you need to be cautious.

The sensitivity, specificity, predictive values, and agreement of rapid plasma reagin (rpr) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (elisa) with treponema pallidum hemagglutination assay (tpha) as a gold standard for the diagnosis of syphilis.

Hello-
a positive test result means you may have syphilis. If the test is positive, the next step is to confirm the results with an fta-abs test, which is a more specific syphilis test. The vdrl test's ability to detect syphilis depends on the stage of the disease.

I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you.
Masturbation is the safest form of sexual activity. 1 that's because if you don't already have a sexually transmitted infection (sti), you can't get one from masturbating. The only exception is if you masturbate with an infected sex toy.
