yes in some cases osteoarthritis is a part of aging as the intervening ligaments and cartilages that separate the knee joint start to degenerate and the underlying bone starts getting exposed and rubbing each other causing pain with simple movements like squatting.

Sitting to long/standing too long in one place/restriction of movement is the main cause. Exposure to ac/low calcium level/excessive walking/traveling earlier are another causes.

Nobody gets osteoarthritis at 16. It's disease of ageing. Consult good orthopaedic surgeon to get proper diagnosis.

Osteoarthritis is definitely a part of ageing. One can prevent the pain and progression of osteoarthritis in many cases if you are taking precautions like: avoid squatting, avoid sitting cross-legged, avoid sitting on ground. Have one full walnut a day.

Osteoarthritis is a degenerative process commonly affecting knees among indian population. Genetic factors cannot be changed or prevented, but factors like weight gain, lack of exercise, vitamin deficiency can be easily corrected to prevent osteoarthritis.

Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Its a part of aging and to prevent it I will suggest you to do exercise on alternate days and avoid lassi , pickles etc and eat only freshly prepared home made food and drink water regularly
