The mosquitos must feed on blood in order to lay eggs Common symptoms of infection with the virus include mild headaches, maculopapular rash, fever, malaise, conjunctivitis, and joint pains. Malaria is a serious, sometimes fatal, disease spread by mosquitoes and caused by a parasite. The illness presents with flu-like symptoms that include high fever and chills.
