Get treated with Ultrasonic therapy which would directly heal the calcaneal spur (inflammation of the calcaneum bone) which causes the heel pain in majority of the cases. Along with ultrasonic therapy, shortwave diathermy also can be given. Simultaneously it is better to wear MCR chappals (micro cellular rubber) which will help to transfer the weight evenly in the feet so that the weight will be completely felt in the heel area. Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
Burning feet if severe enough and comes more often, then it is mostly due to peripheral neuropathy. Swelling of toes is usually not so much associated with it. It is better to check your blood glucose as well as BP & kidney functions. It is difficult to say what may be the cause without any other detail. Thanks.

In a patient with long standing diabetes peripheral neuropathy is quite common. This can happen even with a fairly good control. Because high blood glucose affects peripheral nerve functions. Treatment is to achieve strict glucose control (fbg < 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% <6.5%), plus take drugs that are supposed to be helping in improving nerve function and control the symptoms. Drugs can be b12, lipoleic acid, pragabalin and/ or gabapentine and combinati...more
