Symptoms Of Lip Cancer

The jaw of a person can get swollen if he/she is suffering from oral or lip cancer. The jaw may appear fuller than the usual. A person who has swollen jaw may feel stiffness, tenderness and pain in the jaw, face or neck. This swelling in the jaw occurs when the cancer spreads to the jaws of the person. This is one of the most common symptoms of lip cancer. If a person experiences the problem of swollen jaw then it must not be ignored. The doctor must be informed immediately if a person notices some tenderness in the jaw without any physical injury to the face or jaw.

A lesion, ulcer, lump, blister, or sore in the mouth.

There are various potential causes that can lead to development of sores in the mouth. The sores which occur in the mouth are painful and they tend to make routine activities like eating food, and brushing teeth very difficult. If these sores or lesions are not getting healed after receiving a treatment then it must be reported to the doctor as these can be symptom of lip cancer.

White or red patches on the lips, tongue,

IF a person has red or white patches in the mouth then they might be an indication that a person is suffering from mouth cancer. The mixture of red and white patches is referred to as erythroleukoplakia. It is condition wherein there is an abnormal growth of the cells which are most likely to be cancerous. If these patches are present in the mouth for duration of more than two weeks then a dentist must be consulted immediately. Initially a person might only see these abnormalities but not feel them however, with the progression of time these can felt as well. In the starting phase the mouth cancer might not cause any pain.

Another symptom of lip cancer which can be experienced by a person is continuous pain in the mouth. However, there are other conditions as well which might make a person overlook cancer like mental and physical disorders. If a person is experiencing pain in the mouth for more than 2 weeks then he/she must her dentist as as possible to the problem diagnosed .

Continuous pain in the mouth

If a person is suffering from sore throat then he/she might experience hoarseness burning while swallowing, pain and scratchy sensation. A persistent sore throat can occur due to a variety of reasons or medical conditions. If the problem of sore throat is persisting then it can be due to some serious medical condition. In such cases the patient should immediately visit the dentist to the problem diagnosed.
