As you have already mentioned you are having only one kidney so i just want to let you know sir increase in size of your another kidney could be a part of compansatory mechanism because your single kidney is doing overwork than its capacity so it is obvious to get increase in size, if you are not facing any other problematic symptoms like pain or any sensation or any urine related issuesthen this is not a big deal just stay relaxed and dont get stressed unneccessarly.

If the diabetes is not under control and she has long standing diabetes risk of kidney damage is there.she should monitor her blood sugar three monthly along with Hba1c and consult diabetologist for treatment and advice.You can do renal function test like blood urea.creatinine and urine R/E for albumin to find out whether kidney is affected or not.Along with medicine she should go for regular walk,reduce weight if overweight,control diet by avoiding sweets and excess carbohydrates.she should st...more

Madam the information given is very general. So it does not give any idea about blood glucose levels & HbA1c% as well as current treatment. Also there is no information on weight, height and extent of daily exercise being done. Plus information regarding BP readings, serum creatinine & urea level and lipid profile is also needed.
Then present dietary pattern is also required to give any suggestions or other guidelines. Thanks.
