Initial treatment will be with medications like corticosteroids to reduce the symptoms. But many patients relapse after the dosage is reduced. Next line of treatment is a splenectomy which has a high sucess rate. And even if that fails, lifelong medication can be given to control the itp.

10 months ago, I started experiencing some annoying and terrifying physical symptoms including shortness of breath that lasts for 24/7 and heart palpitations and chest pain and burning. I've done many tests including x ray for my lungs, pulmonary function test, echocardiogram, electrocardiogram, blood tests and many more, they've all revealed that my physical health is completely perfect. I went to a psychiatrist who diagnosed me with gad, first he put me on paroxetine 20 mg and lorazepam 1 mg, I started feeling some improvement but when I stopped slowly lorazepam as my doctor told me, the symptoms came back worse and worse, I took so many vitamins but did never work with me, my psychiatrist put me again on escitalopram and then paroxetine and then escitalopram and lorazepam but my situation is completely unstable, I stopped taking my medication now, I just feel like they're just worsening my situation, nothing else. I am always feeling these very bad symptoms that are really affecting my lifestyle, they don't come as panic attacks but they come as chronic symptoms that literally last for 24/7.even when I am happy and relaxed, I feel them, I do my best to not feel them, but they just come. The people tell me that I am overeating or exaggerating, but the truth is I am not, and what confuses me so much is that I am not really anxious or depressed, you see when I started feeling these symptoms, I wasn't really having a bad time. I did never have a traumatic event in my life, sure people have ups and downs but that's normal. I have some obsessional thoughts but now I think they are slowly going away, although my physical symptoms are still bothering and killing me. It's like I am having a heart attack, I went to the emergencies twice, but the doctors always told me that there's nothing wrong with my heart or my lungs. I have insomnia, so much insomnia, I had sleeping problems from my childhood, it's now 6 am and I am still awake. I feel so tired and sick, my heart is burning and it hurts so much, I feel like I have no oxygen in my body, although my viral are good, but my heart's beats can be 130 to 140 in minute. Please tell me what to do. The people tell me that anxiety and depression cause me these symptoms, but I don't think so, I think that these symptoms are turning me depressed and anxious.

Hello, lybrate-user.
It's really sad to know that you have to go through this, just keep up the hope you will get through this.
May I know how it started in more details please, and in what time of day the symptoms are more?
Did you take any medication or drugs before the condition appeared? I would also like to see the reports of the tests you have gone through, before suggesting anything. You can consult a physician for further look up into your condition.
Get well. God bless y...more
