Hello, Thanks for the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. In a person with hypothyroidism, most important is take adequate dosage of Levothyroxine and maintain TSH level around 3 to 4 mU/L. At that level thyroid functions are in good control and most of the symptoms are in check. As regards taking methi there is no issue. In whichever form that you want to do it. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Madam please see that TSH is maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L, at that level all the symptoms are in check. Since you have not mentined the current or recent TSH levels, it is difficult to know if hypothyroidism is well controlled or not. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
A person with hypothyroidism, when on treatment with adequate dose of thyroxine, should maintain TSH around 3 to 4 mU/L.At that level all the symptoms are in check. There is no special diet for this condition. Only thing to be remembered is to avoid soy beans and soy containing foods. Consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Always use whole grain flour for chapati and roti. Avoid foods made from maida and bakery items. Plus exercise regularly f...more

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
Hypothyroidism is a hormone deficiency disease. In this condition your thyroid gland is not producing enough (nil) thyroxine. This hormone is necessary for day to day functioning of all the metabolic activities in the body. Therefore, it has to be supplemented every day for the rest of life. Hence there is NO CURE. When on treatment with adequate dose of thyroxine, TSH is maintained between 3 to 4 mU/L, at that level all the symptoms will be in check. ...more

lybrate-user ji, Thanks for the query.
For persons with Hypothyroidism, it is necessary to avoid soy beans & soy containing products completely. As regards the other list like cabbage, cauliflower, radish, mustard, coffee, peanuts etc, these can be taken in smaller quantity. All other green leafy vegetables, fruits can be taken.
Foods like bakery items, pastries, cakes, foods from maida, junk foods should be avoided. Always use whole grain flour for chapati and roti, Thanks.
