I am suffering from hyperhidrosis since 6 years. Under arms, on palms of hand and on palms of foot,

Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition in which a person sweats excessively and unpredictably. People with hyperhidrosis may sweat even when the temperature is cool or when they are at rest. One of the first options for treatment involves using prescription-strength antiperspirants on the affected areas. In severe cases, you may be asked to go through a surgery to remove the sweat glands or to disconnect the nerves responsible for the overproduction of sweat.

Hi, Some sweat profusely by nature. Profuse sweating leads to dehydration and thus one feels very tired. Drink plenty of fluids like water, tender coconut, fresh fruit juices, nimbu pani, buttermilk, etc to keep your body rehydrated. Drink ORS while exercising.

Sweaty palms, also known as palmar hyperhidrosis, is a condition that causes excessive sweating in the palms of the hands. Though it’s called sweaty palms, often times a person will experience both sweating in the palms of the hands and soles of the feet together. The symptoms of sweaty palms is exactly that—overactive sweat glands that result in excessive, uncontrolled sweating in the palms of the hands. There may be a genetic inheritance to sweaty palms that makes the condition run in families. Certain conditions can also cause sweaty palms, two medical procedures that may help treat sweaty palms are iontophoresis and an endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy. You may need a physical examination to figure out the actual cause and its possible cure.

Which is the good gel-based sunscreen for me? I have sweaty body. I am 17 year old boy.
Sunscreens are used to protect the skin from the harmful effects of the sun. They help to prevent sunburn and premature aging such as wrinkles, leathery skin. Wearing sunscreen does not mean that you can stay out longer in the sun. Sunscreens cannot protect against all of the sun's radiation. There are various types of sunscreens available in many forms like cream, lotion, gel, stick, spray, lip balm. You may need to seek right consultation before using any of these products.

Absence Of Sweat - Know More About It!

Absence Of Sweat - Know More About It!

Sweating is a natural process of the body to release heat. Any impairment in the functioning of the sweat glands makes sweating a difficult process. It results in a condition known as Hypohidrosis, which is characterized by an inability to sweat or extremely low sweat produced. It may affect parts of your body or the entire body. When the body is unable to produce enough sweat, the body overheats, which may lead to a heat stroke.

This disorder is caused by a number of factors. A brief overview of the causes is given below:

  1. Damage to the nerves: Conditions that can cause damage to the nerves can hamper the functioning of the sweat glands. Some of them are diabetes, Fabry’s disease (a condition wherein fat accumulates in cells) and Parkinson’s disease.
  2. Skin problems: Suffering from severe burns can damage the sweat glands. Some other factors that can cause similar damage are trauma, radiation and infection. Skin disorders such as psoriasis and heat rashes can also affect the sweat glands.
  3. Medications: Medications such as anticholinergic drugs can hamper your body’s ability to sweat out sufficiently.
  4. Genetic defects: In certain cases, the condition is inherited from your parents by means of a defective gene.

The symptoms of this disorder are

One may always feel hot from within and have a flushed appearance. Mild symptoms of this disorder are however not noticeable.

If the condition has only affected a certain part of the body, then treatment might not be required. If the disorder occurs due to an underlying problem, then the problem needs to be treated first. If the cause is a medication, then the doctor may prescribe an alternative medicine.

You can adopt certain preventive measures such as wearing loose clothing and avoiding overdressing. Avoid going outside when the temperature is on the rise. Cold compresses can work wonderfully in this regard. If this condition is not treated, it can lead to overheating and ultimately, a heat stroke.
