I would advice that you should use a lightening agent like kojic acid and vitamin c combination over the scars.
This is a simple, harmless lightening agent which can be used for as long the blackish pigmentation is there.

If creams are not working, get a good treatment from a dermatologist like chemical peeling.
It will consume some money but skin will be healthy.
From now on, -wear sun screen with spf 30 or more. -keep wet wipes with you and clean your face every two hours and reapply sun screen.
