Along with producing hormones that help in the transportation of blood, it also helps regulate metabolism, keeps the organs functioning optimally and helps the body conserve heat. In some cases, when the gland produces excessive hormones or when it develops structural problems, it may become necessary to remove the thyroid gland.

Sialendoscopy or salivary gland endoscopy is a procedure, which examines the salivary gland ducts minimally. This procedure makes use of a mini telescope referred to as micro-endoscope, which is inserted within the opening of the ducts attached to the salivary glands. Around apr 20, had some throat discomfort mostly just below my left jaw in particular, with phexin 500 it had subsided again by end june 20, similar mild swelling of the submandibular gland was noticed and my physician referred to an ent. Ent checked up and had ct pns done –findings -small polyp/cyst seen in left maxillary sinus -septum shows minimal deviation to right - bilateral small concha bullosa is seen -osteomeatal units are normal as per ent from above, it was diagnosed to be dns c pansinusitis and advised functional endoscopy sinus surgery. Also said, the post nasal drips are the likely causes of the throat issues and my deviated septum added to the problem. I have sleep apnea and use sleep machine for sleeping for the last ten years or so from sep 20, it has come up again and causing throat discomfort as earlier. Kindly review and suggest medication to overcome the situation in lieu of surgery. If sinus surgery is the main resolution pls let me know how early it need to be done and you views re the findings as a second opinion thanking you in anticipation.
