Thyroid gland can be palpated (felt) better by standing behind the patient and plcing the fingers on the gland and feeling it. It can also be felt from the front also. Plus patient is also asked to drink water to see if the swelling is visible and moves with swallowing movement. These are methods to see and feel the swollen gland. Thanks.

Yes removal of thymus gland is one of the things which can be considered to help myasthenia Gravis, but, not everyone is a candidate for it and even if the patient is suitable for this procedure, it is not a 100% cure for the myasthenia.
