Dear lybrate-user,
as you have developed symptomatic gouty arthritis with high uric acid levels it is likely that you have a genetic tendency for high uric acid levels.
You need to avoid nuts, wine and red meat and drink 3-4 litres of water every day. If in spite of dietary modification the problem persists you may have to adjust the dose of febutaz to optimize uric acid levels.

Thank you for contacting us on Lybrate. This pin prick sensations as you have rightly pointed out is neuropathic pain due to diabetes. You need to get a few tests done like hba1c, ncv of your left foot first to rule out any other pathologic cause. A detailed work up needs to be done before medicines can be prescribed. You can get in touch foa a detailed discussion.

Hello,
maxgalin (pregabalin) group of medicines are better to be avoided on a long run for its side effects and dose increase. It can better be replaced with other preferred options like gabapentin etc. In your case, if you are having progressive symptoms lately, you need to go through a check up to prevent increase in pain.
Get well soon.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. I do not know from where you have gathered the information about Telmisartnan causing "kidney damage". In fact these group of drugs (ARBs) and ACE- Is are considered safest of blood pressure reducing drugs. Since your BP is well controlled, there is no reason to reduce the dosage. Telmisartan is shown to reduce proteinuria and help improve Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR), which an indication of kidney function. Thanks.
