Hi, this is a symptom of addiction. First of all I wish you all success in your mission to stop smoking. Yes, really it's a mission. But anybody can achieve this. You first think that you can do this. Where there is a will there is a way. You don't think to leave it suddenly. You should stop step by step. You can use nicotine chewing gums initially. Then step by step reduce it. To get rid of the nicotine poisoning take plenty of water, take sesbania leaves, ginger, lemon juice to reduce nicotine...more

Failure is a feature of this particular addiction but never give up. Everybody has gone through this again and again. It is therefore a wise decision to quit as early as possible and minimize the harm. The urge to discontinue is hampered by many factors but the worst of them is the conditioning. In fact these conditions can exist all through the day unlike other addictions. But your desire to want to stop is the most important factor. But try and try again until you succeed. Dear lybrate user,
you may need a bit of willpower to stop smoking permanently. You could easily abstain yourself from smoking during the initial 2-3 days.
But after few days of abstaining from smoking you will feel a strong craving to smoke a cigarette whenever you face any tense situation.
Here lies your real test. You will need a lot of willpower to resist that craving & face any tense situation without the help of nicotine. However, you can take homoeopathic mother tincture daphn...more

Dear, the best approach is to be fully aware of its negative aspects and quit it willingly. You will need sheer will power. Initially take steps like' will not smoke in my house' not in office' not on the street' and keep such promises. Secondly don' t buy in packets. Make it compulsive that when you crave for smoking, go to a shop and buy one and smoke. There are nicotine chewing gums available for immediate use while craving. Keep them in your poscket. Take care.

You must have been smoking for a long time and may have tried several times to quit it too. But you must keep trying until you succeed. This is the pattern with smoking: you fail and then you try again. One day you will succeed. You may feel that it is impossible to give up at your age or for having smoked so much. But that it not true. I know of so many people who have given up and were very high level smokers (even 40 cigarettes a day!). You can follow some of these instructions to help you th...more

Smoking can affect your mouth, throat, lungs, heart, stomach and brain in many ways. Cancer is one among the potential diseases smoking can cause. The best method is to leave it and continue with your will power. There are other methods like Nicotine Replacement therapy and pharmacotherapy combined. Nicotine chewing gums too help as an alternative for cigarettes. But still...more

Distract yourself. Do the dishes, turn on the tv, take a shower, or call a friend. The activity doesn’t matter as long as it gets your mind off smoking.
Remind yourself why you quit. Focus on your reasons for quitting, including the health benefits (lowering your risk for heart disease and lung cancer, for example), improved appearance, money you’re saving, and enhanced self-esteem.
Get out of a tempting situation. Where you are or what you’re doing may be triggering the craving. If so, ...more
