RP is an inherited disorder that results from harmful changes in any one of more than 50 genes. These genes carry the instructions for making proteins that are needed in cells within the retina, called photoreceptors. As they initially said, you can give bed rest a try for six weeks. She should not sit without support for at least six weeks. She also has associated problems of post-chemotherapy pain, this can be treated symptomatically. If you send X-rays one can give proper opinion. But one has to examine the patient to give final opinion.

2. Speed of progression varies from person to person. I have seen patients going bling at young age of 30 years and I have seen patients having good vision even at age of 50 yrs. So, you can go for 6 months perimetry test and that will guide you the rate of progression.
