I am 25 years old male. Had a discectomy last week. The pain persisted so the surgeon suggests a fusion surgery. I am in auckland. Need a consultation so that I could take future course of action if I need/can travel to India and get the surgery done or any other options such as re-surgery. I can provide all the scans and reports.

Hello lybrate-user. What if we can avoid surgery. And help to improve the condition with just homoeopathic treatment and physiotherapy. It can save you lots of pain and also the massive cost. Till you decide for the next surgery better try to take homoeopathic treatment. As there is lots of risk in spinal surgery. And you are going it for second time. You can consult me at Lybrate for homoeopathic treatment.

You have clearly mentioned some of the reasons thyroiditis high bp tumor spine fusion. So many things you are undergoing. But if managed carefully you will be able to control and live in good health. What are the pressure effects of tumor. Are surgeons asking for removal. Is thyroid and bp continuously normal. I suggest that in addition to allopathic management of bp and thyroid take holistic treatment of acupuncture and homeopathy. This will improve your overall health. Also get whole body blood test panel once in 6 months to monitor progress.

Fusion of lateral nasal process with maxilla bone will form A- nostrils. B- maxillary sinus.

Anatomical structures are more diverse in the mouth than in any other region. The human face begins to form during the 4th week of embryonic development. By the 6th week the external face is completed.  Between the 6th and 8th weeks the development of the palate subdivides nasal and oral cavities.  This development continues into the 12th week with completion of the soft palate. 3. DEVELOPMENT OF FACE • Face develops from 3 prominences that surround the stomatodeum 1. One frontonasal process 2. Right and Left maxillary processes (from first pharyngeal arch) • 3- Right& left Mandibular processes (from the first pharyngeal arch). •N. B. Stomodeum is a depression bounded cranially by a bulging produced by the brain and caudally by a bulging produced by the pericardial cavity. * From each side of lower part of frontonasal process two mesodermal processes appear called medial& lateral nasal processes (they will give the nasal cavities in the future. 4. Maxillary process DEVELOPMENT OF FACE Mandibular process Mandibular process Maxillary process Fronto-Nasal process.

What is the anamoly of fusion of cervical vertebrae and why it happens? Does it affect the life of an individual?

It is a abnormal fusion of bones in the intra uterine life of the baby. Exact cause is not known. It may be genetically transmitted disorder. The life of the patient will depend upon the severity of the defect. Mild defects may pass off unnoticed. Severe defects may cause quadriplegia.

I'm able to walk on flat surface and do small stretches on bed, if I walk on bumpy road I'm getting sharp pains in lower back and right leg pain. Even if I cough or sneeze not able to bear sharp pains in lower back, for small jerks also becoming big concerns to me. I was having only back pain before surgery, after surgery my back is too worst and additionally leg pain's :(. I met my surgeon last week and undergone CT scan, my surgeon told everything is in good recovery. But my pains are still there. Still I'm not bending forward as per my surgeon. I haven't informed my relatives and friends about my surgery as I might get recovered soon, now it's almost 5 months, still not able to walk in a way before surgery, people are identifying easily my problem, these are highly frustrating me. Any suggestions over here from when I can start bending forward and how to get rid off sciatica pains, I have attached latest CT scan report. Thanks!

Dear, sorry to hear about the pain you are suffering from but many a times fusion surgery becomes essential in order to prevent further compression of nerves and complete paraplegia. I do not know under what circumstances your doctor advised you the surgery as ct films are visible in the forum. However I would advice you not to forward bending for an year and star back strengthening exercises.
