I have cough and sore throat for a week now, I also have greenish phlegm and a bit of blood. My throat feel so sore that it hurts to even swallow, I can feel it in my ear every time I swallow and talk. I already go to clinics, they give me antibiotic (augmentin) and cough syrup. What should I do?

I am worried about my throat. I have had a throat infection since last year. I am suffering from granular pharyngitis drive 2018. I used to get sick twice a year with allergies and throat infection. Last year I got very sick with a cough and a cold. After recovering from this, my throat has gotten worse. I consulted a lot of allopathic doctors but even after taking antibiotics and other medicines, the throat is not getting better. Some say it's because of chronic post nasal drip and some say it's because of acid reflux. In april this year, I got cold and my throat got even worse. I got a doctor consultation, my symptoms reduced but my throat is not healing. I need a good treatment to get relief.

Dr. mam I am from punjab I have suffering from pharyngitis for last one month. And have taken claramythycin betadine gargle acid reflux medicine for 20 days. Now my treatment is going on another doctor as I have started cough also now she has given me plumpcef enzomac and febrex plus. Change of voice, difficulty in swallowing, regurgitation of swallowed food coming out of nose etc are some serious complaints. Tonsillar growth, soft tissue like adenoids, throat infection with glands in the neck are usual routine complaints. Any doctor or better still ent specialist should be consulted for correct diagnosis and medications if necessary.

It is unlikely that enlarged tonsils cause foreign body feeling in throat. You should consult ent specialist for proper examination of throat, sound box etc. Some times vitamin or iron deficiencies give such sensation. Proper inspection under good illumination by ent person will settle the matter.

Looking like you are suffering from allergic disease from longtime. As far as I know I did not see any patient complain of side effects with strepsils. U have to see a ent doctor if your problem is troubling is much.
It is a common and minor problem. Lot of people are suffering from this and got relief and cure with treatment.
