If you are more than 35 yrs of age, you must screen urself for diabetes annually. Fasting blood sugar is only you need to do. If fasting blood sugar is between 100 to 125 mg/dl you are pre-diabetic and if fasting blood sugar is more than 126 mg/dl, you are diagnosed with diabetes. So get your fasting blood sugar done and consult a doctor if its more than the normal range.

Symptoms of diabetes include Increased urination, Increased thirst, Generalized weakness, Loss of weight, etc. Early identification of symptoms and proper initiation of treatment can prevent many complications.
