Dear Lybrate user
Yes therapy has provided great results in any kind of addiction. Addiction is psychological and thus psychotherapy is supposed to be taken. I have had many clients who have got rid off their addiction. As there are some causes for any addiction and until and unless those causes are not resolved the addiction will not go away. Thats the reason many people get addicted again after they come back from deaddiction centers.
You can contact me for more information.

You can meet with a doctor who will prescribe medications to help you with the craving and to reduce the withdrawal symptoms. To quit do the following: When quitting, you must take one day at a time. If you look too far ahead you will get discouraged and will give up. If you sit and count the number of days you have given up, that will also focus too much on achievement. You must focus on the here and now, on that day to be precise. After all quitting is not that easy due to many factors. So eve...more

He could visit a doctor who will prescribe some medicines that help with the initial craving. But he can also do the following: It is indeed a very noble thought that you want to help your brother. However, it is now very clear that in any addiction, the addict must want to stop the habit himself for any success.
