Your father had already undergone a surgery for tongue cancer. But even after surgery lymph nodes have come positive in the recent pet scan. If the lymph node is really a lymph node or any other thing. As well as they want to find out the size and depth of lesion to be certain (if necessary) about its position during surgical resection. You should take the test as it is not painful and there is no harm and lots of advantage.
