Nephrotic syndrome is a type of kidney disorder wherein, the body passes out excess amount of proteins through urine, owing to the damage caused to the tiny clusters of blood vessels in the kidneys. Passed down through families, it is caused by genetic mutations that affect the type IV collagen family of proteins.
