The antiepileptic have to be given for 3 years after the last attack of seizure. If the last attack was in 2018, then you can gradually taper off the medicine

Greetings, back in 2010 was the first time I experienced having a seizure. At first I wasn't sure about it, but with the passage of time I started to realize that seizures occur to me for 1-2 seconds only whenever there is lack of sleep and putting stress or pressure on mind while calculations or some technical work. I took medications during 2014 when I consulted a doctor. But later that year I left medication till date. With time going by, now im in a position where I know when seizure can happen to me. If I didn't sleep well or whenever putting stress on something it happens. What I feel is relatively throughout years it has been under control to some extent, but still it is enough to not let me do technical work or drive as it can trigger at some stressing point. Kindly guide me on this.

Dear user, you will know the trigger factors that will lead to triggering a seizure. Hence if you are off medication, it is best you try your best to avoid any trigger factorfor eg inadequate sleep, too much stress, bright flashing lights etc that can cause an episode. The other solution will be start the medications again so you know you will not have an episode. Good luck. You can consult me for more doubts and medications regarding this by clicking on my photo and booking a consultation onlin...more

Dear user, yes you can take the vaccine. You will have a mild body pain and weakness but it will self resolve. You have to inform your doctor at the hospital before taking the vaccination. Good luck.

She can safely take the vaccination unless she has some long term medical problems like coagulation disorder or any drugs weakening the immune system. After vaccination, it is advisable to keep a close watch for any side effects which develops and approach the nearest hospital in that case.

As you under the follow up of a psychiatrist who has prescribed these medication it is not a good idea at all to stop medicine without consulting your doctor. Its a bad idea to change these medicines without consulting your doctor.

The purpose of clonazepam is not to induce sleep. Its being prescribed for anxiety. Its not good to change the timing of clonazepam in your case.

Hello,
though this kind of problem as a side effect of levera is not recorded and as you have been taking medicine for years and the dose has been decreased the chance of side effects of this nature are less. This is a kind of startle syndrome and does not seem to be part of seizures or side effects some medicine I think adequate rest and proper sleep may get rid both of your pain and startle syndrome, best to review after 2 weeks.

Dear lybrate-user,
your husband is suffering from epilepsy with generalised tonic clonic seizures and this is inspite torleva he is taking. The dose of torleva can be increased to a maximum of 3.0 gm /day, depending upon the weight of your husband. I feel ths dosage of medicine needs to be increased straightaway and could have decided how much to give if I knew his weight. However this is the best solution for your husband.
