Hi lybrate-user, the cyt operation should not be so painful. Most of my patients whom I have treated say that the pain was negligible and they continue to work. Surgery wounds usually heal very well within a week unless they are very huge or many cysts are closely placed. Plan for 2nd sitting after the first surgery wound has completely healed, probably after 3-4 weeks. Do contact in case of any guidance required.

Dear lybrate-user- you definitely need to be alert as you lost your mother to breast cancer. The sebaceous cyst has no connection with breast cancer.
Please learn how to do a breast self-examination, and do it (after your period) -EVERY MONTH.
In case you find a breast lump please follow it up with a surgeon.
Please get a bilateral mammogram done every year. That should be fine to monitor your breast health.

Chalazion, also known as meibomian cyst, is a cyst in the eyelid caused by inflammation of the blocked meibomian gland. Meibomian glands are sebaceous glands on the eyelid that produce an oily substance that prevents evaporation of the eye’s tear film and lubricates the eye. A most common condition resembling chalazion is the sty. The major difference between the two is that chalazion forms away from the lid margin and is painless, while a sty forms at the eyelid margin and is painful.

The diagnosis has to be confirmed by a specialist after visual impression. The treatment of sebaceous cyst is excision. It might increase in size and rupture due to trauma or secondary infection. It recurrs if the sac is left inside so complete excision is important to remove completely.
There is no medical treatment.

A sebaceous cyst is a closed sac under the skin filled with a cheese-like or oily, semi-solid material called sebum. Sebum is produced by sebaceous glands of the epidermis. A foul odor is also often present in the substance called keratin which fills sebaceous cysts. Keratin is a protein that creates the sac of cells called sebaceous cysts. The bumps or lumps that can feel under the skin are actually the sac of cells.

Sebaceous cyst arises due to the blockage of the sebaceous gland. It ...more
