Hi lybrate-user,
its always best to give the medicines under the knowledge of patient, if it's not possible it's always best to get him/her admitted at a psychiatric set up. If nothing is possible then only you can try giving medicine surreptitiously but for a period as brief as possible. You can mix amisulpride with food but it should not be too hot rather it should be warm enough ready to be consumed. Hope it helps!

Hello,
I am not sure that you are suffering from schizophrenia, symptoms are more suggestive of depression which can be treated effectively, if you list out your symptoms in chronological order right from the beginning I will be able to guide you better. Depression is a very much treatable disorder and you should concentrate on that.

It appears that you are being treated for bipolar depression. Bipolar is of two types: bipolar 1 and 2. Bipolar 1 is sometimes plagued by psychotic behavior. So the medicines that you think are for schizophrenia are for the psychotic aspects of it. I strongly recommend that you go for counseling too. It is not sufficient to rely on medication alone for your recovery. In counseling, which incidentally will be a long term intervention, you will learn of a lot of ways to cope with life and make adj...more

Schizophrenia is a very complex and difficult disease to treat, even with medication. All psychotropic medicines have side-effects: that is inescapable. But I suspect that you are depending entirely on medication when in reality you need to combine it with counseling or therapy to improve cognitive skills. In therapy you will learn a lot of coping mechanisms and techniques to remain functional and lead a close-to-normal life. You will also learn about emotions and how they can impact your condit...more

If you are asking whether the dosage can be reduced over time, I certainly think so. But the treatment is for a serious disorder and it is advised that any reduction of medication must be monitored by your doctor. I also suggest that you seek the help of a counselor and develop some coping skills and techniques to help you deal with life's situations in a healthy manner.

If say it was 100 in 21 days it will be 50, after another 21 days it will be 25 and in each cycle it will half 12.5, 6.25 and continue like that. I hope you have underst...more

Cognitive behavior therapy is a widely used therapy currently in treating a variety of concerns and mental disorders. Cbt is most famously used for depression, anxiety, stress etc. It is also used for schizophrenia, but I would recommend that along with cbt medication is also required. Cbt is a theory that proposes that psychological disturbances are caused by dysfunctional or maladaptive thoughts leading to maladaptive actions and emotions. Cbt is basically used in identifying and treating thes...more
