Hi, I have a general query. I am going to us for higher studies. I have to complete one immunization form before in hand. There are three major test like- measles, german measles (rubella) and mumps. I checked the test online which has measles igg and measles igm test. Same for other two as well. But in my immunization form, it is mentioned to have a serological test (titer). I am not sure if igm or igg ,anyone can work or titer is something different. Please guide me here.

Igm suggest you present infection. Igg past infection. Serological test include typhoid, syphilis, crp,etc.

Recently I consulted the doctor about my stomach pain then advised me to check rubella igg later I got a report of rubella igg 102 iu/ml. I didn't know what to do. I want to know about rubella igg. If rubella igg is positive that m, eans sometime in past (mostly during childhood) you had ythis infection. This is common and in a way better as now you do not need vaccination and no chance of rubella during pregnancy which is harmful.

Namaskar doctor. This query is about my younger sister. She is married. It is her two years of marriage. Before one year she got pregnant and in the fifth month of her pregnancy she lost her baby. After the miscarriage her bleeding did not stop more than 3 month. Doctor prescribed her drip once morning and once evening per day. Doctor told her that it is infection. Doctor also prescribed her medicine. But nothing could correct her condition. Then we went another lady doctor who give her medicine. She got well after few days. That time her monthly condition was very worse. She used to always think about her baby and never slept well in the nights. We used to tell her not think too much. All things will be good. Now she is out of that situation. She wants to get pregnant. She went to doctor and doctor prescribed her torch test. In the torch test she has rubella virus. I want to know about the treatment of rubella virus and how she can get pregnant .please suggest.

It’s best to get vaccinated against rubella before you get pregnant to protect your baby. You should wait at least 4 weeks after getting the vaccine to become pregnant. If you’re already pregnant, you shouldn’t get the vaccine.

Can it possible that a pregnant woman get infected by rubella in 1st trimester and miscarriage due to iy. As after miscarriage rubella igg is positive and igm is negative. So we do not understand that it was due to rubella or not.

Hello, there is a possibility that it could be due to rubella infection as you have not attached the avidity test report so its difficult to comment.

Micromycin Rubella ke liye nahi hai.
Agar shuruat ki pregnancy me rubella hota hai to bachhe ko taklif ho sakti hai.

Mild fever, sore throat, typical lesion on soft palate, rashes on body, may be associated other complaints like earache, lymph nodes enlarged in some case.
No specific treatment- depends on symptoms
Few get secondary complication like infection, majority sail through well more so in children.
During pregnancy more complications.
Can be prevented by earlier vaccination

Hi. I am 29 years old .TTC from 3 yrs I miscarried twice. First miscarriage was due to blighted ovum. Second miscarriage was happened in 3mnth. I have thyroid and I was using medicine. I recently got checked rubella antibody igg .it was positive with 66. Whether miscarriage was due to rubella? And I am not getting conceive soon also. Is it due to rubella? Do I need to use tablets for rubella before trying for pregnant again?

Yes the Rubella infection causes miscarriage or stillbirths. For this you have to consult with a doc and firstly treat this as due to this there are chances of miscarriage or stillbirths.

IgG antibodies show previous exposure and immunization. Please get Rubella IgM antibody to find present and active status of infection.

With rubella igg 71, cytomegalo virusigg 279, taxoplasmosisigg 21.66.before one months taxoplamis is 79, rubella36,cmv78. Dz month my cmv n rubella increased much I am taking spiramycin once in a day. Why they increase. I am plan fr pregnancy. Should I stop that. May I know how to get rid of virus from Body. More important test to do is IgM of cyto, toxo, Hepres. Rubella not required. TORCH not of much omportance.

Dear lybrate-user, you need to provide reference range also as they differ lab to lab also. Secondly why was it done. Routinely torch test is not done.
