After sex exposure with a sex worker - Symptom 80 days post exposure swollen lymph node, 105 days sore throat and fever. 115 days pimples at shoulders. 1- I tested my self 80 days post exposure. No reactive CMIA test. 2- I also make test of that sex worker at 100 day and 140 days post exposure. CMIA Test non reactive. 140 days post exposure sex worker 's Hiv 1 RT- RNA PCR with detection limit < 20 copies IU/ML - target not detected. Also hiv 2 RNA PCR test with detection limit of 100 IU/ml - target not detected Further test required or not if required then which test and when.

If antigen test is negative, there is no need to repeat rtpcr if you have no symptoms. If you have any symptoms, do rt pcr. No one can predict how the result will be. There are rt pcr negative case as well.
In this case, since you have no symptoms, no need to repeat rt pcr.

My father, aged 53 years, had tested covid positive, was hospitalized for 10 days, remdesivir was given for 5 days, various other steroids were given too. After 10 days rt pcr test came negative. However, on the 2nd day after returning home, he felt pain while urinating and after urinating. We got urine test done, urine culture done, there was no infection detected. We got usg abdomen done, the report states grade 1 prostatomegaly. Please help, what is to be done. He has frequent urination too. He gets up around 3-4 times during night for passing urine. And it pains while doing it. He drinks around 3-4 litres water daily. Please help sir.

give medicinal treatment mean cap. Urimax 0.4 mg after dinner
do kegel excercises regularly
avoid water after 8 pm
only sips of water

Dear user. Thanks for the question. I can understand. HIV spread through Contact between broken skin, wounds, or mucous membranes and HIV-infected blood or blood-contaminated body fluids. Deep, open-mouth kissing if both partners have sores or bleeding gums and blood from the HIV-positive partner gets into the bloodstream of the HIV-negative partner. HIV is not spread through saliva. Good to know that report is negative. It means that you don't have autoimmune disorder. Autoimmune disorder are vague diseases where body gets angry with itself and starts to overreacting and causing symptoms like rheumatoid, rashes, asthma, allergies etc.

Test are conclusive after 10 - 12 days. So better get it done after 13 days.
Then it will be conclusive.

Pcr rna test its a quantitative test which looks for the measurement of hiv genetic material in this blood. Pcr dna test its a qualitative test which looks for hiv genetic material deep into the host cell prodna.
Both are accurate test its just one gives number and other says if its positive/negative.

Hi Sir, I am 21 years old bsc nursing student (male). I used to donate blood for needy at 6 months gap between each donation. Recently when I donated the blood they have detected my blood was hcv reactive. They said that they have done elisa twice and come to that decision. Immediately I have consulted medical Gastroenterology. He prescribed other tests like - hcv antibodies test, rt pcr (quantitative, genotyping for hcv. The results are given below 1) hcv antibody =0.03 (<1.0 not detected /non reactive). 2) hcv rna real time pcr= target not detected (<21-hcv rna below the detection limit of the assay or not present). 3) hepatitis c viral (hcv rna), genotype @ (pcr, sequencing: result=genotype not determined due to low viral load. My question is how elisa detected hcv in my blood where as all the above tests I have done in other lab (lalpath labs) could not detect hcv in that same blood. Is that possible or is it the mistake done by the transfusion people who.

You have very minute viral load which is not really infective to you. However, it can produce minute antibodies whcih is detected in ELISA and you are not infected any way by this positivity
