Hi. Swelling in facial region, association with cavity when infection from the tooth goes to bone and gums. If doctor suggested rct, get the treatment done for permanent cure. Meanwhile, lukewarm water with salt will help in decreasing the pain and infection both.

That means anaesthesia wasn't done properly otherwise at the time of procedure you don't feel any pain but after few hours it can be painful but not at that time.

Only painkiller without antibiotics doesn't make much sense. That might only be due to dentist not able to fix your appointment within 2 days due to heavy rush and multiple appointments taken by patients before your turn. Antibiotics along with painkillers can be prescribed due to many reasons which is justified in case of diabetes, heart diseases, moderate to severe infections, swelling etc.

Hello welcome to Lybrate. During rct few patients can get pain and the main reason is remains of lulp tissue and the 2 nd one is overinstrumentation. If you have an iopa with the instruments inside you can upload. Take painkiller for temporary releif.
