The investigations and treatment look OK to me. It takes 12 weeks for your disease to be under control. But I want you to understand that the test they do as a part of medical screening is a Hepatitis C antibody test and this test may not become negative at all even if you are cured of the disease. Based on your Hepatitis C viral load after 12/24 weeks, we will have to give you a special clearance stating that your disease is cured and you will not transmit the disease to anybody else. No one ca...more

It's a good step that you've undergone an hiv rna pcr test for early detection after a potential exposure. Typically, these tests are designed to detect both hiv-1 and hiv-2, unless specified otherwise. An undetected result after 12 days is a positive sign, but it's important to consider a few factors.
1. Hiv types: the hiv rna pcr test is generally inclusive of both hiv-1 and hiv-2, covering the most common types of the virus. However, the prevalence of hiv-2 is lower than hiv-1, especially...more

I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you.
The hiv rna test is deemed to be 100% conclusive if done after 10 to 12 days from the date of exposure. There are some theories that say this test becomes less accurate from about 3 months post exposure. This is because at 3 months post exposure, the body would have made antibodies to fight the hiv virus.
Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for yo...more

I am 35 years male. I had sex with unknown woman in past years and 7 months before and wants to test now whether I am hiv positive or not and want to rule it out which test do you suggest. I had fever for 3 weeks continuously and diarrhea at that time. Almost lost 9 kgs of weight in 3 months and night sweats and white patch on middle tongue came and disappeared. Hot feeling inside chest and stomach and hot air continuously for 2 months. Which tests are better Antibody tests which detects antibodies or pcr tests which detect virus directly from blood. Bcoz some people say that hiv virus can't be detected in some people in certain circumstances in antibody tests and after infecting for years when aids progress and people don't know their status bcoz of no symptoms and they can pass it to do many people. I had antibody 4th gen eclia tests after 6 months and are non reactive and dna pcr negative at 7th month, despite that is it necessary to take Rna pcr test? What would doctors suggest to completely rule out hiv thoughts from a patients mind? please give a helpful suggestion .thank you doctors.

Since 7 months have passed since exposure you can test ELISA directly. Your symptoms are highly suggestive of HIV, clinically, but lab tests only are conclusive, get tested soon and do not worry there are effective medicines to give normal life span. All the best and do not delay.

Please do not do any expensive tests, like RNA or DNA. At 90 days you can do ELISA test, better would be forth generation. No need of antigen test. Also do HBsAg and VDRL tests. If still confused please take private consult with audio video chat and then I can guide you properly.
