RP is an inherited disorder that results from harmful changes in any one of more than 50 genes. These genes carry the instructions for making proteins that are needed in cells within the retina, called photoreceptors. Some of the changes, or mutations, within genes are so severe that the gene cannot make the required protein, limiting the cellís function. Other mutations produce a protein that is toxic to the cell. Still other mutations lead to an abnormal protein that doesnít function properly....more

Hello
1. Retinitis pigmentosa is a progressive disease
2. Speed of progression varies from person to person. I have seen patients going bling at young age of 30 years and I have seen patients having good vision even at age of 50 yrs. So, you can go for 6 months perimetry test and that will guide you the rate of progression.

I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you.
If the chalazion doesn't go away, you should seek help from an eye specialist. The chalazion may need to have the fluid drained through a small incision. You may also need an injection of steroids to reduce swelling and inflammation.
Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for you.

Hi Lybrate user,
it is normal if you notice some swelling or bruising around eye after chalazion removal surgery.
And some discharge is also there.
You can use cold compress on eye to reduce swelling.
And avoid # rubbing eyes # touching eyes
# getting water in your eyes when showering # wearing eye makeup.
All these symptoms can be very well managed by appropriate homeopathy medicines.

A dominantly inherited disorder means you only need to inherit the mutated gene from one parent to be affected. This means that if you have a child with an unaffected partner, there's still a 50% chance of your child developing the condition.
However, there are some medications in homoeopathy that may reduce the risk and help. You may reach us with the details of the mother and kids to get the best help possible.

The signs and symptoms consistent with muscular dystrophy are:[3]
