There are a lot of types of retinal surgeries. Visual recovery depends upon many factors like for what disease you underwent surgery, what was stage of the disease and if anything like gas/oil has been injected in the eye. Your surgeon is the best person to help you.

Dear lybrate-user
it seems there is some confusion in understanding the treatment modality. Yes if there is an advance stage od diabetic retinopathy then injection in th eye will help but its a repeated process where the patient will require multiple injection there is chance the patient may develop cataract early which can be removed later and anyway he is diabetic so chances of developing / progression of cataract are always there.

Dear Sir! There are no side effects of using Retino cream. But you should take few precautions.
1. Use a good sunscreen with minimum 30 SPF daily in morning and afternoon as retino tends to make the skin sensitive to sun.
2. Apply retino cream in small amount and only once at night time.
3. Preferably use a moisturising cream like Cetaphil moisturiser first and then apply retino cream over that. This will prevent any irritation due to retino cream.
Thank you!
