Retinal detachment is a condition in which a layer of tissue called the retina gets lifted or pulled far from its initial position in the eye. This can cause a number of symptoms including slight vision impairment and blurred vision as well as pain. The retina is a light sensitive part that can be found in the rear portion of the eye. This part is responsible for sending visual signals to the brain which helps in forming the images that we see when we set our eyes on an object. If a person with ...more

The retina is the third and innermost layer of the eye that catches the light and helps us focus on things so that we can see clearly. This is one of the most important parts of the eye. The retina is made up of a number of light-sensitive cells that are connected to nerve fibres. These nerve fibres help in transmitting the images formed through neuro-impulses that reach the brain. There are many conditions and diseases that can affect this part of the eye.

It is not related that way. You can get yourself checked and ensure that your health is in good condition. Yearly review with a physician is important. Revert back if needed.

Looks like yours is a difficult or complicated situation. It will be desirable to follow your operating surgeon's strategy. You may take another Retinal surgeon's opinion if you wish. On an online platform like this, difficult to comment without assessment.

Hello
in eye we have 2 segments: anterior and posterior.
In posterior segment we have a gel called vitreous
this vitreous is made of collagen fibres.
In some people, these collagen fibres gets meshed up and they start floating in vitreous gel
when light enters the eye, these meshed collagen fibres cast a shadow on retina which is seen as floaters by patient. There is no treatment for this
just avoid seeing them
these are entirely normal

It is normal to have floaters at the age of 26
causes other than age include eye trauma, cataract surgery, nearsightedness and diabetic retinopathy. There is no magic eye drop or therapy to get rid of floaters, but over time, they usually become less bothersome.
The retina can be examined for detachment by ophthalmoscope.

While we usually consider the eye to be a single element, it does, in fact, have a number of smaller parts each which play a distinct role in helping us see. The retina covers more than half the interior surface of the eye and can be described as the light-sensitive layer that converts light into optic signals that are then carried to the brain. Retinal detachment is a serious condition that causes the retina to be separated from the supportive tissue. If not treated immediately, it could lead t...more
