A metal stent actually is permanent; your body's endothelial cells grow over the metal implant, incorporating the device into the arterial wall for the rest of your life. However, just because the stent device is there doesn't mean it will permanently remain effective in treating your disease. In a minority of cases, a stent can become reblocked, called "in-stent restenosis. If this happens and your stented artery closes up, your doctor might re-open the blocked stent with a balloon, or even pla...more

Cooking oil needs to be chosen carefully to maintain heart health and optimum levels of cholesterol in the body. I advise using oils or fats which are least processed and are indigenous like desi ghee, mustard oil, coconut oil, sesame oil and other'kachhi ghani 'oils (filtered but not refined). Many latest studies point out the benefits of Indian Ghee and locally produced oils which have not been refined. But whichever fat medium you use, the quantity needs to be controlled.

There is no harm in RCA not being stented as its supply will be covered by other arteries and collateral will develop there . Medication is needed to prevent clotting in small blocks

The blood vessels are elastic tubules controlled by valves through which blood flows. Depending on the organ and the distance from the heart, these vessels should be of a certain thickness to ensure proper blood supply, this maintains a constant normal pressure of the blood flow. In this condition, the blood vessels are narrowed, which results in reduced blood supply, affecting optimal function.
