For both the HIV Duo test and the Early HIV/STD Screen, we would advise a repeat test at 3 months for definite results.
For clients presenting from 3 months, testing can be via the HIV Duo test or the Insti HIV test, which tests for HIV 1 and 2 antibodies. Both tests are conclusive from this point.

The result shows that you are not infected .To validate that the quantitative p24 antigen test has performed as expected, the optical density reading of the standard must meet certain criteria. These criteria vary according to manufacturer, but usually require that the mean optical density of the 0 pg/ml standard and the substrate blank must be less than 0.100, and the mean optical density value of the 62.5 pg/ml standard must be greater than or equal to 0.500.

Dear user. Thanks for the question. I can understand. HIV spread through Contact between broken skin, wounds, or mucous membranes and HIV-infected blood or blood-contaminated body fluids. Deep, open-mouth kissing if both partners have sores or bleeding gums and blood from the HIV-positive partner gets into the bloodstream of the HIV-negative partner. HIV is not spread through saliva. Take care.

The first hiv protein (antigen) that can be measured is p24 (from 1 to 8 weeks after exposure. Antibody testing at 4 weeks can give you a good indication of your hiv status, but you need a test at 12 weeks after the exposure to be considered hiv negative. As told the correct result comes only after 12 weeks and the result at 8 weeks in not conclusive and may change.
