Heart ablation or cardiac ablation is a procedure done to treat irregular heartbeats or arrhythmias. It is performed by an interventional cardiologist, a doctor who specialises in doing procedures for heart problems and it involves threading long wires called catheters through a blood vessel into your heart. The irregular heartbeat is treated by delivering an electrical pulse using electrodes to specific areas of your heart.

Pulmonary edema is a disorder wherein fluid accumulates in the lungs leading to lack of oxygen in the body. The usual cause of pulmonary edema is congestive heart failure (the muscles of the heart are unable to pump blood). In this disorder, the heart has to work extra hard to pump blood, so this adds extra pressure on the blood vessels that are present in the lungs. In a bid to relieve this added pressure, fluid is released into the lungs by the blood vessels.

Very little chance. Angiogram, ECG echo can detect what has already occurred, they cannot predict the future. Cholesterol measurement is advised for prediction, but is almost worthless. Don't rely on check ups, focus on healthy lifestyle. Reduce sugar jaggery alcohol and starchy foods in diet. Balanced diet is healthier than restricted diet. Some mild or moderate exercise. Best wishes.

Bp and sugar are controlled that's good but history and investigations suggest heart failure with water overload which can be dangerous. I agree with your doctor.

You have not shared the detailed angiography report without the angio report and report of his echo it will be difficult to suggest what will be the best line of treatment for him. In general patients of coronary artery disease depending upon the vessels that are blocked, the number and the percentage and location of blockage and the echo of the patient and other associated disease conditions like diabetes etc are given the options of stenting or bypass surgery and if disease is not very severe ...more
