Ocd changing to schizophrenia is rare. What you can do best is since you are aware of schizophrenia, you can keep a watch. If you feel like having any of the symptoms you can vouch for help.
You do not need to fear at all.

My Younger brother whose age is 20 and student of psychology and economics , He suffered from psychosis as he used to smoke marijuana hash and weeds for the last two and half years and suddenly stopped it, we consulted Dr. and some medication prescribed by him. When I came to know about situation I went to Aligarh from Delhi (Working here) and found that he was not able to sleep for the last 5 days (probably 1 hr each day he slept) after we consulted psychiatrist he went extremely well as we took him to a trip for five days, after 5-7 days we stopped medication as he was good as earlier and suddenly after 5 days a relapse in same situation with fear and phobia and that phobia is increasing day by day and sometimes decreasing, I am not able to understand what exactly we need to do. The medication prescribed are-Divaa OD-250 (Divalproex Sodium) - 250mgOleanz (Olanzapine) - 5MgLonazep 2 Mgand after relapse -Felicita OD Caps. He used to study and practice spiritual things like Aura reading, psychic powers and Illuminati Groups, he fears that something bad going to happen according to his extra sensory perception which I cannot understand. Whenever he watches any tv channel relates it to himself or family or our family ancestors and fears that there is conspiracy and planning to kill or abduct us (family or him). He is now having suicidal thoughts which I am extremely worried about, he is an intelligent student and extra ordinary performer with good IQ. According to him Delhi is not safe for him, however I decided to take him to mother in hometown which is in UP East, we have a sorrow filled family history with divorce of our parents at the age of 8. Father had fewer symptoms of schizophrenia and very mild and he is an ENT surgeon, a doctor by profession. I am 22 years old, doing job in a BPO to support family and studies, I always used to send him very limited money so that he himself can do some part time job to become a responsible person but he was never able to do so. Please help me to get my brother on right track and remove all delusional or false thought from his mind. Doctor now prescribed trinicalm, which is for schizophrenia and which blocks dopamine receptors, he is happy and gets sometimes fear about being himself or me abducted as he has posted and revealed illuminati groups, according to him which is delusional. His eyelids moves sometime at very frequent interval which I think involuntary. Please he me, I will be highly obliged to you doctors.

Yes you are indeed taking good care of him and so is the psychiatrist. Keeping him mentally and physically occupied with a purpose is important. Some delusions will go away and some new might come. It takes time for delusions to leave a person completely. Counselling can helps schizophrenics if they are not extremely disturbed by it. Ask his doctor and take him for counselling to control his delusions and fears. Also the drugs weed and marijuana would have weakened his system and left behind a l...more

Dear thanks for asking your querry here. You concern is genuine. For psychosis the dose of risperidone is less. But the dose of fludac for ocd is ok. I am not aware about current psychotic symptoms of your brother. If still he has delusion or hallucoinations, you may ask for a review by his psychiatrist who may consider increasing the dose of risperidone.

Your doctor may prescribe lithium for long periods of time (months or years). It's important to continue treatment, even when you feel well. Lithium is not a cure, but it is able to help control symptoms and prevent relapse while you are taking it. For probable betterment by alternative, pl talk in details by booking audio or video call.

I think your daughter may be treated for Bipolar 1. I suggest you take her immediately to a counselor and treat her with talk therapy too. In her later adolescence, there are likely to be some unresolved issues that may go as far as prenatal influences. It comes up at this time seeking a resolution. But unfortunately not many are aware of this and will go untreated and compound the disorder. Both parents must also accompany her to help trace the problems encountered in childhood. There are certa...more

Discuss your symptoms with your treating psychiatrist and get the medications revised if they do not help even after taking for a month or so. Many times it is difficult for the psychiatrist to get all the symptoms under control in one go, so give him/ her time and for most the symptoms subside over a period of time. Even after say 3-6 months you still feel unsatisfied, get a second opinion. Good luck.

Dear lybrate-user, amisulpride causes constipation as it decreases speed of intestines.
I do not know your condition for which you are taking. Amisulpride causes weight gain too.
I suggest you ask your psychiatrist for ssri as most atypical antipsychotic like amisulpride causes constipation.
You do not have to worry if there are other symptoms. Simply change of medication will reverse the symptoms.
I wish you all the best.

Hello
Kanchan

In this relationship you both have love in past and have same feeling right now after long time.
As you both have personal life and have family and responsibility

It's not necessary if you love someone and you can get him or her as a life partner but you can still keep relationship as a good friend and have to keep a limit in mind.

Good friendship is a best solution. But don't try to cross limit and don't think to get him
