Non bacterial prostatitis is curable in young males. Treatment for chronic bacterial prostatitis is aimed at curing the infection and preventing complications. Antibiotics are given for 6 to 12 weeks. Long-term antibiotic treatment may be needed if the infection returns. Infected prostate stones (prostatic calculi) can make the infection more difficult to cure.

Acute bacterial prostatitis is often caused by common strains of bacteria. The infection can start when bacteria in urine leak into your prostate. Antibiotics are used to treat the infection.

You need to get a repeat Ultrasound of KUBP region & Trans-rectal Ultrasound for Detailed examination of the prostate. A repeat PSA after 2 weeks. If its still high Then MRI/Prostatic biopsy should be done after consulting Uro-Surgeon.

Sir my father is 78 years old he was diagnosed with ca prostrate in rat lobe with psa of 35 bone scan showed minimal uptake in rt acetabular area others normal pet scan showed rt acetabular increased uptake other wise he is healthy still now orchiectomy was done 1 years back then on tablet anti androgen 50 mg for 6 months My Q is now his psa is .04 to .08 3 report done once in 3 months for past. One years now he is walking for 50 min brisk my urologist says he is fine no need for radiation does he need any Mri or bone scan will he lead a normal life for another 5 years without any secondaries further (except rtacetabular) or will relapses come he only complaints occasionally tiredness.

Acetabular uptake can be arthritis. He is on correct line of treatment. Do psa every 3/4 mths in the same lab. Unless it doubles on 2 consequently, don’t worry, yourself or your dad.

Adenomyosis needs surgery if all other medications fail to perform and you are in excessive pain. Removal of ovaries might not be a possible treatment to cure adenomyosis. In such a case, removal of the uterus is the only option left with your doctor.
